Add Worldwatch to your Android phone

Install Worldwatch on your Android phone or tablet straight from Chrome, no Play Store needed. It gets its own home-screen icon and opens full-screen like a native app.

Worldwatch runs as a web app, so you install it straight from your browser; there's nothing to download from the Play Store. Once installed, it gets its own icon in your app drawer and on your home screen, opens full-screen without the browser address bar, keeps you signed in, and launches faster.

Install from Chrome

Open Worldwatch in Chrome

Open Chrome and go to app.worldwatch.market. Sign in as you normally would.

Open the menu

Tap the (three-dot) menu in the top-right corner.

Tap "Install app" or "Add to Home screen"

In the menu, tap Install app (or Add to Home screen, depending on your Chrome version). Chrome may also show an Install banner at the bottom of the page; tapping that works too.

Confirm

Keep the name Worldwatch (or change it), then tap Install (or Add). The icon appears on your home screen and in your app drawer.

Open the app

Tap the new Worldwatch icon. It opens full-screen, without the Chrome bar, and keeps you signed in.

On a Samsung or another browser? Samsung Internet: open the menu and tap Add page to → Home screen. Firefox: open the menu and tap Install. The result is the same: a full-screen Worldwatch icon on your home screen.

Turn on notifications

Once the app is on your home screen, open it and allow notifications when prompted, so you're alerted about orders and offers. You can fine-tune what you get in notification settings.

Troubleshooting

I don't see "Install app"

If the menu only shows Add to Home screen, use that; it installs the same app. If neither appears, make sure you opened app.worldwatch.market directly in Chrome (not an in-app browser from a link), reload the page, and check the menu again.

The app opens with an address bar

That usually means a plain browser shortcut was saved instead of the installed app. Remove that icon, then repeat the steps above using Install app. The installed version opens full-screen with no address bar.
